A job search is the act of looking for a job or career due to current or pending unemployment, dissatisfaction in present position, or an aspiration to progress in a company or industry.

You can likely expect frustration in your job search if you do not know your skills, values, interests, personality type, type of job you are seeking, and companies you would like to work for and why. In order to mitigate some of the looming job search stress and make the process much smoother, do some self assessment, research jobs you would like to do that you would be qualified for, then identify some companies you would like to work for.

The job search process is often, but not always, the same. First, you apply for jobs. Second, you interview. Third, you follow up. And finally, you either learn that you did not get the job or you receive a job offer and you begin negotiating the terms of the offer.
